How to Find Your Dream Wedding Dress

December 1, 2015 | Posted in Weddings

Finding the right dress for your wedding day can be a complicated process, but it doesn’t have to be a daunting one. While there are likely millions of styles, shapes, and lengths of gowns, the best way to know if a gown is for you is to simply start looking.

Here’s a collection of some of our favorite bridal wear from our Hotels Unlimited New Jersey brides. From epic ball gowns to elegant A-lines, these photos will lend you plenty of ideas and inspirations to get started.

Straps vs. Strapless: There’s no right or wrong way to wear your gown. A strapless gown makes any bride’s neckline look feminine and modern, and for the brides who like to dance the night away, it can feel less restrictive than sleeves. We’ve seen some absolutely gorgeous sweetheart-cut bodices from our New Jersey brides, like the ones below.

On the other hand, straps and sleeves look beautiful in their own right. The wide lace straps on the first bride below create a stunning silhouette, and another bride wore a soft, chiffon-like cap sleeve that gave her gown the flowy look of a Greek goddess.

Not sure if either look is your cup of tea? Try a one-shouldered gown like this bride did for a perfect mix of chic and comfortable.

Attention to Detail: Next, look for the level of detail you’ll love. Some brides want to go all-out on the gown – the more glamourous, the better. Other brides prefer delicate details that accentuate the gown while others keep their gowns with just a touch of detailing, but let their accessories shine instead (you’ll see the jaw-dropping hairpiece below). Check out how some New Jersey brides styled their gowns:

Dress Shape: Your bridal gown’s silhouette is the third big piece of finding your dream dress. True, a poofy ball gown can make you feel like a princess for a day, but so can an A-Line dress or a mermaid cut. It’s all about finding what works best for you.
